Skipsea weekend camp

A ju-jitsu grading in the sea at Skipsea, these brave men had just done back to back fighting !!

I remember doing press ups, facing the waves (which were much higher than these tiddlers on the second day), Phil saying that King Canute was wrong and that the tide could be turned if you believed it could, eventually it did, just after high tide I remember. That's when I took up diving.

PS I also remember the burning bush episode from this course, a few pyrotechnics went a bit critical and ensuing conflagration set a hedge on fire. Phil exhorted a group of black belts to use any passing 8th kyu to beat out the flames.

Nice to hear from you, good luck on your trip around the "Cape", Perhaps you could make it to the I.B.A. Memorial course on 5th July at Worksop, it would be nice to see you again, a lot of the old faces will be there remanicing about the good old days.
