Master Tatsuo Suzuki 8th Dan Hanshi has died
It has been reported in the latest Martial Arts Illustrated that Master Tatsuo Suzuki 8th Dan Hanshi died on Tuesday, 12th July 2011 at the age of 83.
He was a direct student of Sensei Hironori Ohtsuka, the founder of Wado Ryu karate, and was one of the early pioneers in bringing Wado-Ryu karate to the UK.
I never trained with him myself but am aware that 10th Dan Dai Hanshi Phil Milner trained with him quite a lot and brought him to Yorkshire in the 70s to give a series of seminars.
As a member of the IBA may I pass on our condolences to his family, and to his students all around the world.

Phi Milner mentioned in Tatsuo Suzuki's autobiography
In 2009 Tatsuo Suzuki's autobiography was published - it is a short work of just 87 pages but his time in Sheffield with Phil Milner is mentioned. He describes Dai Hanshi Phil Milner as "one student who did a lot of crazy things".
